Common problems when running, editing and taking the site live, with what to do about them.
Running and building
Port 4321 (or 4001, 9000) is already in use?
Another program runs on that port. Use a set of ports of your own: see 1.5 Run it locally.
The build hangs at “Indexing local files”?
Usually another dev or build command is using the same ports. Stop it, make sure nothing else of the site is still running, and build again once.
A page shows the words “object Object” in square brackets?
A rich-text field in content/ was saved as an object instead of markdown text; fix that field in the admin, or tell a developer.
Admin and content
Why does the language switch go to the home page instead of the matching page?
The two versions of the page don’t share a file name yet, e.g. vi/gioi-thieu.json and en/gioi-thieu.json.
No call, Zalo or Messenger buttons?
The numbers aren’t filled in under Theme → Contact.
The shop is on but the admin has no Products?
pnpm dev wasn’t restarted after saving the Theme. A live site needs a new build.
An #anchor link only reaches the first section?
Two sections on the page share an anchor; rename one.
Going live
The form only says “This is a sample site…”?
PUBLIC_FORM_ENDPOINT wasn’t set at build time (see 3.4 Environment variables).
Why is there no /sitemap.xml?
The build has no SITE_URL, or Hide the whole site from search engines is on.
No consent banner?
No tracker is filled in (and no custom code), Ask before tracking is off, or the site wasn’t rebuilt after editing SEO & Tracking. Once answered, the banner stays away; use the cookie settings button at the foot of the page, or a private window.
The admin on the deployed site shows an error?
A pnpm build:local build has an admin that calls a Tina server on your computer, so it doesn’t work online. To edit online use TinaCloud (pnpm build); to let visitors try the admin, build with pnpm build:review.
